Coronavirus advice (COVID-19)
Our vehicles are disinfected daily to fight against Covid and with this in mind, lorry drivers have a difficult task ahead as the haulage industry is needed to ensure goods are kept moving around the supply chain. If you are a driver that does not drive the same vehicle every day you will need to protect yourself.
- Check & clean the cab area fully before starting out on your journey.
- Concentrate on key areas such as steering wheel, gear lever, parking brake lever and door handles.
- Wear gloves.
- Sanitise hands throughout your shift.
- Do not go within 2 meters proximity of other people.
- Do not have direct contact with customers.
- Always sanitise your hands when leaving and entering vehicle.
- Avoid touching your face and eating until your hands have been thoroughly washed.
What do I do if I have Coronavirus Symptoms?
If you get symptoms of Coronavirus you need to follow the latest Government guidelines by visiting www.nhs.uk.

Where the supplier offloads the product
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver calls to confirm arrival and is directed into yard.
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver removes keys from ignition leaving in view on dashboard.
- S Porretta & Sons driver puts on mask before leaving cab.
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver gets the load ready for off load.
- All maintain 2m (3 steps) distance from each other.
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver returns to cab and stays there until off load complete.
- Customer employee receiving goods provides their name for the S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver to use when completing their paperwork.
- Porretta & Sons Ltd driver leaves the site.

Where we offload / assist the offloading of the product
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver calls to confirm arrival and is directed into yard.
- If possible, S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver removes keys from ignition leaving in view on dashboard.
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver puts on mask before leaving cab.
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver effects the unloading activity either on their own or, if the nature of the load demands more than one person to offload, whilst maintaining 2m (3 steps) distance from any other person involved.
- Customer employee receiving goods provides their name for the S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver to use when completing their paperwork.
- S Porretta & Sons Ltd driver leaves the site.
